Synesthesia Association of Australia and New Zealand Inc(SAANZ)

The Synesthesia Association of Australia and New Zealand Incorporated (SAANZ) promotes synesthesia and assists people who experience and/or study synesthesia to communicate with one another.

SAANZ facilitates the dissemination of information about synesthesia to people who experience synesthesia, scientists, health professionals, academics, researchers, artists, writers, journalists, musicians and the general public.

The SAANZ is run by and for people with an interest in synesthesia.

It is committed to: 

  • encourage involvement in a wide range of activities related to synesthesia. 
  • publish a newsletter for which members may submit articles, artwork, reviews, etc. 
  • put synesthetes in touch with scientists and academics in various areas of ongoing research. 
  • hold synesthesia seminars, conferences or workshops which all our members are invited to attend. 
  • to provide information for synesthetes, academics, scientists, artists, writers, musicians, researchers and journalists.

Activities of the association may include: 

  • Newsletter publication
  • Music or Art events 
  • Research dissemination
  • Media liaison

In 2008 while the association gets up and running, memership is honorary and it is free. The founding committee will be looking at how we can make membership fees that would be charged for 2009 affordable and decide on the type of services you would be interested in receiving.
